Legal Aid NSW Registration
Private legal firms are able to register with Legal Aid NSW, through our electronic
lodgement facility Grants Online. This enables practitioners
in your firm to submit applications for legal aid, lodge applications for panel
membership, and conduct business with Legal Aid NSW electronically. Once practitioners
are registered for Grants Online, practitioners can access the Legal Aid NSW Learning
Management System to register for courses and conferences, and the Panels website
to apply for Panels Membership.
Family dispute resolution practitioners are able to register for Grants Online in
order to submit invoices for FDRP fees at Legal Aid conferences.
To register your firm, complete the form below and click SUBMIT at the bottom of
the page. Please ensure that you include details of all
practitioners within the firm who undertake work on behalf of Legal Aid NSW.
Legal Aid NSW is required to complete verification checks on
details you provide in the Registration form. The details we need to verify are
the firm’s ABN with the Australian Business Register www.abr.business.gov.au and
each practitioner listed in the form with the Law Society of NSW, the NSW Bar Association
(or the relevant state Law Society or Legal Board).
Before filling out the form below please ensure the following:
- Your ABN, firm name and either entity or business name on the Australian Business
Register (website listed above) must match. If they do not match we are required
by the ATO to deduct withholding tax from any payments to your firm. We will check
your ABN entity or business name displays against your firm name held with the relevant
Law Society, Legal Board or Bar Association.
- All practitioners requesting registration with Grants Online must have up to date
details registered with the relevant Law Society, Legal Board or Bar Association,
this includes firm name, address, phone and fax details and email address.
If any information listed with the ABR or legal professional
association is not current, this will result in a delay to completing your firm’s
registration for Grants Online.
After the form is submitted a confirmation page will appear and an email will immediately
be sent to you confirming successful receipt of your registration application.
Following receipt of your form we will complete the verification checks and contact
you if we require any of the above verification details updated.
